Jennifer grew up in Joplin, Missouri and graduated from Webb City High School. While there, she played saxophone in band and jazz band, acted in plays, competed with the speech and debate team, and captained the academic bowl team.
Jennifer chose to pursue her love of music at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. There she obtained a Bachelor of Music degree with an emphasis in Saxophone Performance. Upon graduation, she spent a year in Red Wing, Minnesota learning to repair band instruments (and how to survive in sub-zero temperatures). She moved to Kansas City in 2014, where she studied Nonprofit Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She obtained her Master of Public Administration degree in May of 2016.
Outside of work, Jennifer volunteers her time to various community and activist organizations throughout the Kansas City metro and spends many weekend evenings playing shows with her band. In her down time, she enjoys cuddling with her pets, playing video games, and hunting for four leaf clovers.
